This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Walmart Foundation for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
There is a hunger epidemic in America. Over 50 million families do not know where there next meal will come from, and with springtime upon us, it means that donations to food banks and charitable organizations will be at a minimum.
A lot of people wonder how they can help. A lot of us are strapped for cash these days and just don't have the excess income to be able to donate, even though we wish we could.
To help bridge this gap, Wal-Mart is working with Feeding America and four huge food brands- Kraft, ConAgra, Kellogg's and General Mills, in a fight against hunger from April 9th - April 30th, and you can help just by logging onto Facebook and voting.
In the running for assistance are 200 of the communities with the highest unemployment rates in the country. Vote to fight spring hunger with Walmart,
Wal-Mart will donate $2 million to the 21 communities that receive the most support. $1 million to the winner and $50,000 to each of the 20 runner-ups.
The Fighting Hunger Together mission is expected to generate 43 million meals for families in need, and all you have to do is click a button.
I encourage you to vote and spread the word. This is our way to help even if we can't afford to do so by our own means. Even just by purchasing products from the 4 brands involved, brands we generally buy on a regular basis anyway, you can donate meals to Feeding America or Action for Healthy Kids, a nonprofit fighting childhood hunger. Check out in-store signage and packaging to make a purchase.
Help make a difference!
Signed Up, Voted for an area where I have family, & pimped you! ;-) my good deeds for the day are done.
